About KVK
Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Gunta, Bansur, was established on 28th March 2012 by Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi under the administrative control of ICAR - Indian Institute of Rapeseed-Mustard Research (formerly Directorate of Rapeseed-Mustard Research), Sewar, Bharatpur. Alwar district has 14 tehsils and two KVKs. One is KVK, Navgaon and other is KVK, Gunta, Bansur. Among 14 tehsils in the district, 7 comes under the jurisdiction of KVK, Navgaon and 7 tehsils (Bansur, Behror, Mundawar, Kishangarhbash, Kotkasim, Neemarana and Thanagazi) are under the KVK, Gunta, Bansur. This KVK is situated 10.8 KM away in northern side from Bansur town in Gunta village, Mehanpur Road, Near Ram Nagar Tiraha (State Highway #52) in Bansur Tehsil of Alwar district, Rajasthan. KVK has been allotted 19.63 hectares land where Administrative Building , Farmers Hostel, differnent Demostration Units like Vermicompost, Goatry, Nursery and Mushroom Production, Orchards of Ber, Pomegranate, Lasoda and Mother Orchard have been establised.
The mandate of this KVK is to impart vocational training to the practicing farmers including farm women, youth and extension functionaries in improved technologies in the field of agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry and other allied enterprises. It has additional responsibilities of testing and refining the developed technologies by conducting On Farm testing and popularization of new technologies through front line demonstrations(FLDs) at the farmer’s field.
